Owner
Cheryl Whitney, LMHC
I am the owner and founder of The Dragonfly Path, with 20 years of experience as a therapist. From a young age, I knew this was my calling, often finding myself in a supportive role with others. I take great pride in the work I do with each client, meeting them where they are with compassion and care.
Throughout my career, I have worked at Southbay Mental Health and Arbour Counseling, and for the past 10 years, I have been in private practice. I work with teens, adults, and couples, tailoring my approach to each client’s unique needs. While I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, I believe there is no one-size-fits-all method. I take time to truly understand my clients before determining which strategies will be most effective for them—because I believe everyone deserves to be treated as an individual. This client-centered approach guides my work and reflects how I would want to be treated in therapy.
I also believe in the powerful benefits of pet therapy. For many years, my dog Bailey was a beloved presence in my office, providing comfort and companionship to clients. While she no longer joins me, I warmly welcome dogs to visit with their owners. In fact, The Dragonfly Path may soon have its own mascot!
Meet The Dragonfly Team

Founder
Cheryl Whitney,
LMHC, MCCS
As a mental health counselor since 2006, I have met with many different types and ages of clients. I started my career doing in-home therapy with many at-risk youth and families, as well as couples and children of divorce. I moved on to do outpatient therapy for many years to learn that my heart lies with young adults and teens, as well as couples who are trying to either reconcile their relationship or strengthen what they already have. As you can see from my picture, I am a dog lover and enjoy having them in therapy with me. My goal will be to bring a new furry friend into the therapeutic world as the girl pictured here, Bailey, has outlived her therapy days. I am looking forward to the new paths that I will find at The Dragonfly Path and all of the new clinicians and staff that I will soon call family.

Jocelyn Jacques-Curewitz, LMHC
Staff Clinician
Jocelyn Jacques-Curewitz is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has been supporting individuals through therapy since 2006. She has worked with people from many different backgrounds and understands that reaching out for help—especially making that first appointment—can often feel like the hardest step. Jocelyn strives to make that step easier by offering a welcoming, non-judgmental space where clients can focus on improving their well-being.
Her approach begins with truly listening, so she can understand what you’re going through and help create a plan that feels right for you. While Jocelyn has a strong foundation in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), she tailors her methods to each person’s unique needs. She believes that collaboration, empathy, and even a touch of humor can be powerful tools in working toward positive change.
Jocelyn primarily works with adult clients and has a particular interest in the challenges faced by an aging population. Her experience includes supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, life transitions, and building self-confidence.
If you’re ready to begin your therapy journey, Jocelyn looks forward to hearing your story and walking alongside you as you take steps toward healing and growth.
